Sixteen-year-old Youri has lived his entire life in Cité Gagarine, a red-brick housing project in Ivry-sur-Seine, Paris, named after Soviet cosmonaut Yuri Gagarin. When the deteriorating towers face demolition, space-obsessed Youri refuses to evacuate and joins the resistance to save his community. Working with his friends Diana and Houssam, he ingeniously transforms the building into his own "starship," blending his astronaut dreams with reality. This magical realist debut film explores themes of community, displacement, and resilience as Youri fights to preserve both his home and the tight-knit immigrant community within it. 16歳さいのユーリは、パリ郊外こうがいにあるソビエトの宇宙飛行士うちゅうひこうしユーリ・ガガーリンの名前なまえがついた赤あかレンガの団地だんちシテ・ガガーリンでずっと暮くらしてきた。古ふるくなった団地だんちが壊こわされることになると、宇宙うちゅうが大好だいすきなユーリは引っ越ひっこしを拒こばんで、みんなの住すむ場所ばしょを守まもるる運動うんどうに参加さんかする。友達ともだちのディアナとフッサムと力ちからを合あわせて、建物たてものを自分じぶんの「宇宙船うちゅうせん」に作つくり変かえ、宇宙飛行士うちゅうひこうしになりたい夢ゆめと現実げんじつをうまく組くみ合あわせる。この不思議ふしぎでリアルな初監督はつかんとく作品さくひんは、ユーリが自分じぶんの家いえと、そこに住すむ仲良なかよしの移民いみんたちの暮くらしを両方りょうほうとも守まもろうと頑張がんばる話はなしで、コミュニティや住すむ場所ばしょを失うしなうこと、そして強つよく生いきることをテーマにしている。
