Fallen Leaves

In modern-day Helsinki, two lonely souls find each other by chance. Ansa, a middle-aged woman working minimum-wage jobs, and Holappa, a factory worker struggling with alcoholism, meet at a karaoke bar. Their tentative romance faces numerous obstacles—lost phone numbers, mistaken addresses, and Holappa's drinking problem. Set against the backdrop of news reports about the war in Ukraine, this deadpan romantic comedy follows their awkward courtship through Helsinki's working-class neighborhoods.
